Before you upload, check our entry guidelines:

1. Entries must be inspired by the theme, ‘Create Your Mark for a Brighter Future'.

2. Entries must be handmade using Faber-Castell products.

3. Entries must A4 or A3 in size and submitted as a photograph or scan of the original artwork in PNG, JPEG or PDF format. Max file size per file is 4MB.

4. Parent permission is required for student entries.

My entry file type is too big and won’t upload

If you cannot upload your file using the entry form you can also email your entry through to enquiries@faber-castell.com.au

Can I submit multiple entries?

Yes. Entrants can enter as many (unique) artworks into the competition as they wish, ensuring each of their entries comply with the requirements outlined in the terms and conditions.

Can I make bulk uploads for students in my class or school?

Yes! If you are a teacher or work at a school you can make bulk uploads for up to 60 students at a time from either phone or desktop. Use the teacher section on the entry form to complete this.

How will I know if I have successfully uploaded my entry?

Upon completing your entry you will receive a notification on the microsite providing confirmation your entry has been received and you will also be sent a confirmation email to the email address included in your entry.

Are there any elements or imagery that participants are not allowed to incorporate into their final artwork?

All final artworks must be completed by hand. Artwork with digital images will not be accepted. Any imagery that is copyrighted, or is the intellectual property of other parties, also cannot be incorporated into the final artwork. Submissions that breach these restrictions will not be accepted and will be disqualified from the contest.

What art materials should be used to complete my entry?

We encourage participants to use a range of Faber-Castell creative materials to fully express and explore their creativity, including but not limited to: Faber-Castell Connector Pens, Coloured Pencils, Oil Pastels, Crayons, Watercolour Pencils, Graphite Pencils and more.

How will entries be judged?

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged, based upon individual creative merit as outlined below. All entries must be an independent creation by the entrant and must be hand made using Faber-Castell products.

Winning entries will be judged based on:

  • How creative the entry is in relation to the theme ‘Create your Mark for a Brighter Future’
  • Unique use of Faber-Castell products
  • Evidence of innovative and sustainable thinking
  • Note: the students age and level of effort will also be considered
Who are the judges of the contest?

A team of Australian artists and teachers has been put together to judge this year’s entries.

Where and when will winners be announced?

Winners will be announced on the 7th of October 2022 via social media and email notification.

Responses to this question must be 25 words or less and can be entered in the ‘Teacher’ upload section of our entry form when submitting your classes entries for the competition. Entry for this prize is optional and not required to submit your students’ entries.
